Assistant Professor
Rangeland Watershed/Riparian Ecology and Management, Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon
Responsibilities include teaching, advising, and interacting with undergraduate and graduate students; competing effectively for external funding; and working with stakeholders to implement a balanced program of fundamental and applied research directed toward the interactions of water, soil, vegetation, animals, and climate endemic to central and Eastern Oregon and regionally to the Northern Great Basin and Columbia Plateau. Position is a full- time, 9-month tenure-track position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Rangeland Ecology and Management, Watershed Science, or closely related field; commitment to excellence in teaching; ability to establish a nationally-recognized program in watershed/riparian ecology and management research. Individuals working toward the required degree will be considered but the degree must be obtained by the start date. Preferred qualifications include postdoctoral experience and experience in obtaining extramural funding; field-based research experience related to watershed/riparian issues in arid/semiarid systems; college-level classroom teaching experience, especially related to watershed/riparian, introductory- level rangeland ecology and management, rangeland analysis, and/or rangeland management planning topics, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
